2015 was a great year for Close 2 You. The organization was started in October of 2014 by a small group of women that saw a need in the babywearing community. Since that time the organization has incorporated and been recognized as a non-profit. At the end of 2015, the core team of Close 2 You (C2Y) had 3 members volunteering as the Board of Directors and was supported by a volunteer administrative team of an additional 12 people. These 15 women are dedicated to supporting the mission of C2Y.
Throughout the year, over 250 people applied to borrow a carrier or nominated a friend in need. Each application/nomination is reviewed by the verification team to protect the integrity of the carriers and ensure carriers are going to families in need. Team members also build relationships with each recipient to serve as a liaison to C2Y during the loan process.
In 2015 C2Y mailed out carriers to 147 families. 123 of these families still have their loaned C2Y carrier. Those that have been returned are preparing to go back out to a new family. At the end of 2015, the C2Y admin team had 45 carriers on-hand and ready to join new families in 2016!
